Gothic Shoes

The Goth style has become incredibly popular in recent years. With many music and celebrities integrating much of this underground style into their appearance, this style has gone mainstream, while still retaining its underground edge. This has spread style out greatly, a problem for some still holding to its underground roots, but has also generated a boom in manufacturers who cater to this style and provide a great many number of products that allow for greater variety in the look and more innovation for the style. One of the more exciting areas of this market is in gothic shoes.
The mark of this style is traditionally dark colors, that is, black. Though the style is so much more than just simple dark clothes. Instead, this fashion sense integrates a great amount of diversity of many different styles and eras all into one great look. This includes punk, dominatrix, and even Victorian style dress. With this variety of styles, you can imagine that there’s a great amount of room for expression and difference in style as well as design for fashion companies to create and individuals to combine.
A given shoe in this style can have a great many characteristics. Boots are very common, especially very tall boots that run the length of the length. Additionally, features like lifts are found in both men and women’s models. These products, whether boots or not, also usually have pronounced buckles and straps that are reminiscent of the punk scene. They are a great contrast to the black material, usually leather or vinyl that these products are made of.
In contrast, other shoes are often very light and delicate. These products are usually for women and are thin heels and strips that are often very tall, sort of like stilettos. These are still made of black material with a glossy sheen, but lack the industrial look. This is very common with shoes that try to emulate older styles that are so popular. The same case goes for men. Many shoes still have the glossy black leather with pronounced buckles, but the design is more reminiscent of the early part of the twentieth century instead of the late 70s or modern times. These are a great alternative for people who don’t dress in this fashion because they are an alternative to synthetic fibers and bright colors common in contemporary products. They are also a good middle ground between formal and casual wear.
